Community and War

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the Krasyliv community began to receive the first people who fled from dangerous regions, from the conditions of hostilities. In total, about 3,200 refugees were resettled.

Residents united to house people and satisfy priority needs. They help with housing and free food for displaced people in the dormitory at the Heart of Jesus church. A humanitarian aid distribution point with free essential commodities was opened at the town council.

The community organized the weaving of camouflage nets and manufactures long-storage food items for the Armed Forces.

The community organized a “Culinary Front”: volunteers make varenyks, sweets, canned meat and fish. People gather side by side several times a week and make and send their products to the defenders of Ukraine.

The cohesion, awareness and sensitivity of the community can be seen even in the way small residents have united and are collecting funds for the needs of the Ukrainian army: children weave bracelets, make souvenir products and stickers and sell them at the local market every Sunday, thus raising funds for the needs of Ukrainian soldiers.
